On our recent trip to Yeosu, South Korea, we set out to explore a place we had heard so much about — Jangdo Island. Known as the “Island of Artists”, it is a tiny slice of paradise where creativity and nature coexist in the most beautiful way. Getting to the island is an experience in itself, thanks to a unique pedestrian bridge that connects it to the mainland. Remarkably, this bridge is designed to be submerged during high tide, adding a touch of mystery and exclusivity to the journey. Timing your visit is key, as the tides determine when the island is accessible.
As we wandered through its trails, we were greeted by colorful sculptures, whimsical murals, and installations that seemed to tell their own stories. It was the perfect escape— peaceful, inspiring, and full of surprises. Here’s a glimpse of the art and beauty that made us fall in love with Jangdo.
